When you come on vacation to Costa Rica and want to complete your scuba diving course your have 3 options.
Option 1 – Classroom time at the dive center
If you want to spend more time in the classroom, then on arrival in Manuel Antonio you can collect a book from the dive shop and then complete your videos and classroom work over 1 – 2 days depending on which course you are completing. For an open water course you will need 1 1/2 days or classroom time.
Option 2 – Independent Study at home with Elearning
Complete the academic work of selected PADI Dive courses online with PADI e-Learning. You can do this before you come on vacation and anywhere you have a computer connection; you set the pace and decide when you want to study. While you’re working through your online course or after you complete all of the segments, you can print your eLearning Record and bring it to Costa Rica to start your underwater adventures.
You can start your course today by signing up through the link below.
Please note that there is a separate charge of $169 payable directly to PADI on signing up for your PADI course online. On arrival, Oceans Unlimited has a separate charge for your inwater sessions at the center.
Option 3 – Independent Study with PADI Open Water Touch
Your third option for the PADI Open water course academics is to download the PADI Open water Touch application. The Touch is a tablet-based version and integrates the PADI Open Water Diver manual curriculum, learning objectives, video clips, quizzes and Knowledge Reviews into a rich, interactive learning environment. Since the Touch is a tablet-based application, no internet connectivity is required to view course content. So, you can conveniently access the knowledge development portion of the course at any time from any location. Please note that the PADI Touch application is only available for Apple devices at this time.
