Captain Bob McDaniel
Bob is originally from Florida where he instructed and dived for the Orange county Sheriff’s office Marine Patrol, fighting crime and saving lives for 20 years. He set up Oceans Unlimited in 2005 and is now enjoying the life style of PADI Dive Instructor, Dive Shop Manager, Mr Fixit and boat captain in Costa Rica. Bob is the guy that can fix anything and can often be found tinkering on a reg in the repair room.
Our wonderful inhouse PADI Course Director and DSAT Tec Deep instructor Trainer. Georgia is from the UK and has been instructing in central America since 2004 and has also found her niche here at Oceans Unlimited and Go Pro Costa Rica. She runs all our professional and technical dive programs here at the center. She also has the tiring job of being mum to dive dog, Damo and new terror on the block Pandora. Check out her blog !
James JT Timney
PADI Master Instructor and our lead instructor, JT has joined us for the stress free scuba life after retiring from the US Army after 26 years of stress in the military. Now adjusting to his Pura Vida lifestyle in Costa Rica, He is also a Disabled Diving Instructor and is looking forward to assisting us to become a Disabled Diver Dive Center. Additionally he will be working towards his Technical Dive certifications later this year. He is also our certified Boy Scouts of America Scuba Diving Merit Badge Counselor. When not wearing those hats he is scuba diving the beautiful warm waters of Manuel Antonio on a regular basis!
Ileana started diving with Oceans Unlimited in 2009 when she did a DSD and was bitten by the “dive bug”. She steadily has worked her way up the PADI ladder and now has achieved her goal of PADI Assistant Instructor. You will find her running the main office and organizing trips and courses as well as divemastering and assisting on spanish courses.
Emily Jo Dixon
Emily Jo is originally from Texas and has been with Oceans Unlimited since last summer. Having recently worked here way to Staff instructor she is now spending hre time focusing on her technical diving and instructing.
One of our newest instructors at GoPro Costa Rica & Oceans Unlimited, Lindley Barrow is originally from North Carolina. Lindley first learned to dive off the east coast in cold waters on deep wrecks. When not enjoying the warm weather, the sun and the fun of instructing and diving the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, she can usually be found hanging on beautiful Manuel Antonio beach or catching a night out on the town in Quepos!
James came to us from the Florida Gulf Coast where he learned to dive over ten years ago. He enjoys spearfishing, free diving, and don’t get him started on ship wrecks! He’ll talk your ear off about the ones he’s been diving on and the ones he aims to do some day!
You will more often than not find Brad down in the workshop, humming along to the sound of the compressor, if not diving. When not below the waves he likes to spend his other daylight hours surfing some of the breaks around Manuel Antonio.
The Muttley Crew
Dive dog Deco likes to spend most of his day sleeping. This is a very important job and ensures that there is always a comfy place to put your feet. Can be found checking up on day to day dive activities and cooling off in the pool.
Damian likes to pretend he is a door mat and has a tendency to sleep where ever you are trying to walk. If you are lucky he will greet you with an open eye but rarely does. Likes to take an active role in CPR classes
Don’t be fooled by the cute ears, this little madam likes to keep everyone on their toes. Hobbies include chasing anything that moves and playing.
