I contacted The Oceans Unlimited Dive Center and informed them that I would like to attend the Dive Master Course in January 2011. I have completed several (16) Specialty Courses with Oceans Unlimited, the only PADI 5 Star IDC scuba diving center and PADI Technical dive center in Costa Rica, Central America. I completed these courses from December 2008 through December 2010 and I was already aware of their high level of professionalism and their willingness to help me achieve the training requirements and teach me PADI standards the Divemaster are held to.
My Instructor was Miss Georgia King. She was a very professional Instructor. Her instruction technique in the pool is very precise and deliberate. She insists that Divemaster candidates execute their skills to PADI Standards. Additionally she recommends that candidates preform their skills slowly and deliberately. She explains that this well and enhances one’s ability to instruct as we progress to the Assistant Instructor or Instructor level. She is a very knowledge instructor who is very good at getting student to overcome their short falls and to grasp the skill sets that are required to become a Professional PADI Divemaster.
The owner and primary boat Captain of Oceans Unlimited Mr. Robert “Bob” McDaniel is very accommodating and a very knowledgeable scuba diver himself. He would offer suggestions to DMs in training from shop operations through boating operations. He was very helpful at describing the local dive sites and explaining how to dive these sites to get the most out of them.
