Beach Sweep Clean-Up!

Manuel Antonio Beach Clean-Up!

by Kaitlin on February 27, 2012

Oceans Unlimited hosted a, Project AWARE Beach Clean-Up, this morning in Manuel Antonio. Our volunteers did an excellent job sweeping the beach for trash! We collected enough garbage to fill multiple bags. The majority of the trash consisted of straws, plastic spoons, cigarette butts, papers, and bottles.Beach Clean-Up!

We are working to make these beach sweeps as well as other shoreline clean-ups a monthly event and we are hoping to get more volunteers each time. It doesn’t take a lot of work to make a big difference. If we can work together to collect the trash before it has a chance to enter the water we can save countless marine organisms lives as well as preserve the beauty of our pristine waters.

In closing I would like to extend a special THANK YOU to all our volunteers as well as to the folks at Pali, Super Iguana, and Mini Price for donating trash bags and gloves, we greatly appreciate your help! Check our website as well as our Facebook pages to find out when our next clean-up is scheduled for. Trash collected
